New design accents for three classics of the SAXONIA family

At the SIHH in January 2015, A. Lange & Söhne will be presenting three models of the SAXONIA watch family, a new dial design giving even more distinctive expression: SAXONIA, SAXONIA AUTOMATIC and SAXONIA DUAL TIME.

"Never to stand still" is not only the motto of Walter Lange, but also the motivation of Lange's product developers. Your tireless pursuit of the perfect watch is also behind the subtle modifications of the dials of three SAXONIA models. But precisely in the case of a watch family whose design is so simple and puristic, every small element has a visible influence on the overall effect.

Since its introduction 20 years ago, the SAXONIA has a firm place in the repertoire of the manufactory. In the search for a more striking face for the new generation of the Lange classic, the designers have designed a variety of dial versions, which differ only in minute nuances.

Few precisely placed accents make the finely contoured face of the SAXONIA model series even more prominent: The massive golden hour indices are closer to the dial face and are executed at 3, 6, 9 and 12 o'clock as double stick appliqués. The slightly extended black indices of the minutiae also appear more prominently. In the SAXONIA AUTOMATIC and the SAXONIA DUAL TIME, the ten markers of the small second were numbered. All modifications serve to improve readability.

With two models, the designers have slightly reduced the housing diameter. The SAXONIA with the proven manufactory caliber L941.1 now measures 35.0 millimeters. Compared to the previous model, it is 0.5 millimeters flatter, so the elegant proportions are preserved. With a reduced diameter of 38.5 millimeters, the SAXONIA DUAL TIME is now just as great as the SAXONIA AUTOMATIC.

The SAXONIA watch family is also what it has been for 20 years: a tribute to the home of A.
